Hands Off My Bike!

Ever had you bike stolen?
Do you know someone who has had their bike stolen?
Fed up hearing about like minded cyclists having their bikes stolen?

Now is the time to fight back! Nesta, the UK’s innovation foundation are currently running the “Hands Off My Bike!” challenge prize, where you can earn yourself a cool £50,000 yip I said £50k!!

So what do I have to do I hear you say? To be in with the chance to win the top prize of £50,000 Nesta are looking for individuals and organisations from the UK to come up with breakthrough innovations to make stealing bikes more difficult.

The winning innovation will be the one that requires the longest time to steal the bike. Most thieves will give up if they can’t get what they want quickly, as time increases, the risk of them getting caught in the act also increases. Other areas judged on will be, impact on the environment, cost and potential for commercialisation and/or implementation at scale.
