Euan Speirits – Goin’ Downhill – with Freeflow Bikes

blog title

Hi everyone,

My name is Euan Speirits and I’ve been working as a Saturday employee for Freeflow Bikes for the past year. Unfortunately my university studies have been getting the better of me, and I’ve had to cut back my time in the shop. However I am now writing this blog- Goin’ Downhill- to keep you up to date with what’s happening out in the world of Downhill riding and racing, as well as the stuff I get up to in between. I hope this blog will be an interesting read for you, and hopefully persuade you to give downhill mountain biking a go!

I am a 22 year old guy who has lived in Glasgow all his life. I’m currently in my fifth year of medical school at Glasgow University and captain the University Basketball team, but biking is my real passion. I’ve been pretending to be Steve Peat ever since I was about 15 years old, and before then I rode BMX at my local race tracks.

Hot day in Cambu

Downhill is my favourite discipline, and you will see me at Innerleithen most weekends as well as Fort William when the mood takes me. I also ride regularly at Cambusbarron in Stirling. When I’m not slinging my downhill bike about, I’m usually found on my little Yeti DJ at Western Titans BMX track in Clydebank, or EK indoor skatepark.

I’ll be releasing blogs under the Goin’ Downhill title regularly, so if you are enjoying them or want them to cover something you have a few questions about, feel free to get in touch and I’ll try to keep you entertained! I’ll have lots of (hopefully) interesting readin coming your way, including my research on neck braces, summer biking holiday tips and race reviews to name but a few!

Stay tuned for my first blog on Winter Bike Refurbishment coming very soon!
